BIG CASH WINDFALL POSSIBLE FOR ST.LAWRENCE COUNTY POSSIBLE, BUT UNLIKELY—County Emergency Services Director Joe Gilbert told legislators in Finance Committee Monday the county's allocation of state E-911 money could go from the current 57-thousand-dollars up to between 2.3 and 2.4 million, if legislation is ever successful in Albany to have a more even distribution of those funds. The money is a pool of surcharges on people's phone bills, and is now skewed toward Metro-New York. Gilbert says it is more realistic the county will see some increase, but not that much. The board just passed a 2013 spending plan that has a tax hike of more than 13 percent.
