PLANNERS APPROVE MEDICAL OFFICE EXPANSION PROJECT, WITH CONDITIONS—The Potsdam Village Planning Board gave its unanimous blessing Thursday to an expansion of the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Lawrence Avenue campus. Plans are to add 10 new doctor's offices and move Urgent Care to the former St. Mary's School. The Board stipulated an existing storm drain be diverted to a planned underground runoff detention system, and the installation of a sidewalk connecting the walks from the two adjacent parcels, that will run behind a large ditch at the front of the building. CPH Vice President for Finance Rick Jacobs said the underground runoff detention system, that will go under the parking lot, will cost about 100-thousand-dollars. Plans are to break ground for the expansion next month, and be done sometime next spring.
