PROCESS TOWARD STATE APPROVAL OF COUNTY TRAIL SYSTEM MOVING AHEAD—Legislator Alex MacKinnon told the rest of the board in Finance Committee Monday he would be presenting the management plan for the county all-purpose recreational trail system next month. After merging the plan with the Final Generic Environmental Impact Study and formal adoption by the board in November, the approval process by the State Environmental Conservation Department can go forward. DEC officials said earlier this year they would not even consider approval without assurances natural resources and all trail users will be protected. The trail will be open to all forms of motorized and non-motorized outdoor recreation.
