AUDITOR SAYS POTSDAM CENTRAL SCHOOL IS FISCALLY-CLEAN, BUT MUST CONTROL SPENDING—Roy “Chip” Clark of D'Arcangelo and Company told the Board of Education last night it used almost 39 percent more fund balance to balance the budget this year—a trend he sees in many schools coping with state and federal aid losses. He says that is not sustainable over time. ALSO—The Board voted Tuesday to give Superintendent Pat Brady a 2.5-percent raise this year bringing the salary up to $128,152. There have been several years in Brady's tenure when he has not taken a raise because of tight fiscal times. He pays 10 percent toward health insurance. The contract is a 3-year deal with annual review.
