POTSDAM VILLAGE PLANNERS SAY “YES” TO DRIVE-THRU SUB SHOP—The Planning Board gave conditioned approval Thursday to developer Con Mahoney, so he can move his “Billy's Deli” enterprise to the former Tardelli's Restaurant building on Market Street. The business will include both dine-in and drive-thru service. The planners stipulated Mahoney follow code enforcement suggestions on parking lot lighting, and to install small signs to point out the drive-thru, to make the property more navigable and safe. The project started in the absence of a code enforcement officer earlier this year after Timothy O'Brien was fired; the Planning and Development Office realized after study of state law that it could not allow the permit without a board review.
