ABC NEWS: TOXICOLOGY TESTING TO BE DONE RELATED TO FATAL CRASH—The national news report from ABC Radio at 8:00 this morning said that there will be testing done on samples taken from 45-year-old James Mills, Jr. of Myerstown, Pennsylvania; the driver of a south-bound tractor-trailer that plowed into a line of vehicles waiting for a paving crew on US Route 11 in the Town of Antwerp about 9 Thursday morning. The collision killed 42-year-old Laurie Dana of Lawrence, her 14-year-old daughter Catelyn, her 11-year-old daughter Lauren, her mother-in-law 69-year-old Janet Dana, and 14-year-old Shannon Planty. Also perished from the crash was 59-year-old Maryann Gregory of Dickinson Center. 44-year-old Lewis Lottie, Jr. of Nicholville, the driver of the one of the vehicles struck, a State DOT truck was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he was in “critical” condition late Thursday from head and chest trauma. Mills was headed south in the rig from North Country Dairy in North Lawrence which, ironically celebrated Thursday afternoon its opening by Upstate Niagara Co-Operative. State Police Troop “D” accident reconstruction experts continue to piece together details on the crash. St. Lawrence Central School in Brasher is providing counseling today to help the community deal with the loss of the Dana family; Laurie Dana was a school speech pathologist.
