SUPERVISOR SAYS NEW POTSDAM TOWN HALL PROJECT MAY COST LESS THAN PROJECTED—Marie Regan told 99 News this week tentatively, the price tag for the project at 18 Elm Street will be in the range of about 1.8-million dollars, down slightly from a 2-million dollar estimate. Regan told us last week that 24 bids were received for the project; the apparent low bidders for the general contract and other aspects of the work will be announced June 12th. Regan re-iterated her statement that the project will be done with cash on hand. The one-story office building on the land that once held the Sigma Pi fraternity house was purchased by the Town after voters rejected bonding for a much larger structure on Outer Lawrence Avenue. 35 Market Street is being renovated into a court; the Town is now renting the former NYSUT offices at 12 Elm.
