LEGISLATORS SAY A BREAKTHROUGH ON UTV LEGISLATION IS POSSIBLE—State Senator Patty Ritchie, a Majority Republican told the St. Lawrence County Conservative Party Committee Friday Democratic Senators have expressed willingness to sit down and negotiate a compromise on allowing side-by-side all-terrain vehicles to be registered. This, after GOP Minority Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush told the Committee environmental groups blasted his bill in his house so powerfully minutes after he had it drafted, so much so he took his name off it and gave it to a Democrat in the Assembly Majority to sponsor. The Committee voted to endorse Ritchie and Blankenbush in their re-election bids, as well as GOP Assembly incumbent Marc Butler, Senate GOP incumbents Joe Griffo and Betty Little, and GOP Assembly candidate David Kimmel.
