99 News for 4/28/12

  • 99 NEWS FOR SATURDAY, 4/28/12

THE DISCRETIONARY DOLLAR GOES IN LOCAL CASH REGISTERS FIRST--St.Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Executive Pat Mc.Keown told 99 News as she was making the media rounds to promote the Chamber "Really Big Show" at the Clarkson Cheel Campus Center that the economy has begun to improve. She says the evidenceĀ is that local people are spending money on things they may not need, necessarily, but really want--local specialty food, recreation, craft items and the like. She also says, semi-humorously "...when people buy new underwear, that's a sign things are getting better..." The Chamber show runs for its second day today from 9am-4pm.
