A WHITE-WATER PARK COULD GIVE POTSDAM INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE, PLAN SAYS—The Local Waterfront and Downtown Revitalization Plan unveiled for public comment last week has a proposed one wave-feature course on the Racquette River below the two dams. Planner Paul Cummings told the audience last week the rapids do not have to be elaborate, and could be a big drawing card for kayakers around the globe. Cummings says to have international events of that magnitude that could draw hundreds if not thousands of people, there would need to be a hotel and hospitality to accommodate them with a unified marketing strategy...all part of the revitalization plan document.
