FELONY CHAGES FILED FOR POTSDAM SHOPLIFTING SCHEME—42-year-old Amy Jones of Norfolk, recently fired from a part-time cashier's job at Potsdam Wal-Mart, was arrested by State Police Sunday on a count of Grand Larceny and a misdemeanor Conspiracy charge, alleging she allowed her son, 22-year-old John Jones and his girlfriend, 19-year-old Natalie Corranza to take about a thousand dollars worth of items from the store without paying for them though a scheme where the couple went through her register line. Corranza was also charged with Grand Larceny and misdemeanor Conspiracy; John Jones was charged with misdemeanor Petit Larceny and misdemeanor Conspiracy. All three were released on their own recognizance until future court dates. Amy Jones has been employed as a Special Education teacher at Potsdam Central School; she has been suspended with pay from that job pending the outcome of the court case.
