POTSDAM “PADDLER'S MAP” FUNDED—Village Trustees voted Tuesday to spend about 600 dollars from contingency to pay for the creation of a map that guides canoeists and kayakers from Sugar Island on the Racquette River, through Potsdam to Norwood. The map is part of the Village's commitment to the Racquette River Blueway Corridor, the tourism promotion initiative from the Tupper Lake area all the way to Akwesasne. Planning and Development Director Fred Hanss says there will eventually be similar guides for each section of the Corridor. ALSO RELATED TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT—Trustees voted Tuesday to set aside $40,000 in Empire Zone Capital Funds as a match for a grant application to SLRVRA in the hopes of funding the “Ives Park Pavilion” project.
