AUBERTINE QUIZZED BY RITCHIE ON FARM VIABILITY FUNDING--State Ag Commissioner Darrel Aubertine was questioned by Senate Agriculture Committee Chair Patty Ritchie in a budget hearing Tuesday why the program, popular with area farmers was cut from 1.2 million-dollars to 400-thousand in the Governor's budget. Aubertine said re-appropriations in previous budgets for research projects currently underway led the Institute to tell him they could do wth 400-thousand in the proposed spending plan for this year. Aubertine once held the senate seat, and committee chairmanship that Ritchie holds now.
