RECORD-BREAKING OCTOBER STORM LEAVES THOUSANDS WITHOUT POWER, SCHOOLS CLOSED--Certified military weather observer Rick O'Hanlon recorded 5 inches of snow on Sisson Street in Potsdam yesterday, breaking yesterday's record. As of 5:50 this morning, 3 more inches had fallen, breking the record for this date set in 1962. Over 6-thousand customers of National Grid are without power this morning Lines have snapped or been struck by limbs covered by heavy, wet snow. Numerous schools are closed or on delay today.
