POTSDAM VILLAGE TRUSTEES TO CONSIDER EMERGENCY ACCESS SYSTEMS LAW—The Village Planning Board voted last week to send the legislative body a draft local law to require all buildings with an automatic fire alarm system or sprinkler system have a key box or key box document vault that would allow firefighters access if a key-holder is unavailable. The law would also apply to buildings that have seen three or more false alarms in a six-month period. Planning Board Member Jim Corbett, a fireman says there have been many instances where firefighters have wasted time and resources going to false alarms. Trustees must have a public hearing on a Local Law before a vote.
