CLARKSON PROVOST SAYS MADE IN AMERICA IS “CLARKSON'S PLAN ON STEROIDS”--Chuck Thorpe told an audience at Alcoa East in Massena last month as US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand unveiled her high-tech industry-boosting initiative that the legislation is in line with efforts going on in Potsdam to take high-tech developments to the manufacturing stage, and encouraging students and faculty to start small businesses. Thorpe said Clarkson's latest major hire is that of Marilyn Freeman, Deputy Assistant Secretary of The Army for Research and Technology, whose job it will be to boost innovation on the campus.
