Salmon River Girls Outlast OFA For Third Straight Class B Crown |

The Shamrocks three peat as Class B champions holding off a solid Blue Devil squad at SUNY Potsdam.
Salmon River ended the first quarter on a 7-1 run capped off by PEPSI PLAYER OF GAME Anna Kelly who threw in a three pointer with half a second to play.
The shamrocks built a seven point lead at halftime but late in the third the Blue Devils Riley Luckie hit her third three ball of the game to close the gap to 31-30. OFA was unable to get over the hump as they got within 50-47 with 8.5 seconds to play but Kelly hit two free throws to finish the game scoring 25 in the contest.
Kouiipe King added 11 points and seven rebounds. Allyia Cook managed six points and 15 rebounds.
For OFA, Riley Luckie led her team with 20 points and four three pointers. Felicia Barr added 10 points and seven boards.
The Shamrocks will take on Hammond in the Section Ten overall semi-finals on Tuesday and receive a bye into the New York State class B Quarterfinals.

CLASS D GIRLS BASKETBALL FINAL
HAMMOND 43, HEUVELTON 40
The Red Devils survive a scare from the Bulldogs winning back to back titles.
Both offenses suffered from poor shooting and turnovers early on but it was Hammond to take a six piint lead into halftime.
Heuvelton closed the gap to two with a three pointer by Logan Tallman as the thihrd quarter came to a close. Heivelton would finally take the lead back with 1:17 to play as Alexis Wiedner hit two free thorws to give the Bulldogs a 38-37 lead.
Owning the second half, PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Alyssa Crosby hit a jumper with 59 seconds to play to give the Red Devils the lead for good. She added free thorws late as Heuvelton turned the ball over twice in there final two possessions.
Crosby finshed with a game high 28 points and 15 rebonds. Twenty-one points in the second half. Junior Varsity call up Paige McCromick for Heuvelton scored nine fourth quarter points and Logan Tallman scored nine,all coming on three pointers. .

The Golden Bears open up in the second half with a solid defensive effort in claiming their first Sectional title since 1996.
A close affair for most of three quarters. The Larries kept it close despite Lindsay Thayer sitting the entire second quarter with foul trouble,only down by three at the break. Canton expanded the lead to six after three as balanced scoring a strong defense set the stage for a dominating fourth.
Canton began the fourth quarter on a 12-1 run,not allowing a Larrie field goal until late into the fourth quarter. PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Katie Christy led several transistion plays into the front court and managed to lead Canton with 12 points.
Samantha Richards posted a near double double for St. Lawrencce Central with 10 points and nine rebouds.
Canton will face Massena in Sectional overall semi-finals on Tuesday
