Morristown Claims Road Victory In Opening Round Of Tournament

CLASS D BOYS FIRST ROUND

MORRISTOWN 48, COLTON-PIERREPONT 34

The Green Rockets up-end the Colts on the road in the first round of the Class D Tournament.

PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Bobby Simmons tallied nine first half points as the Green Rockets got a late bucket by Dakota Marshall to end the first half up 23-15.

Simmons and Marshall added four more points apiece in the third quarter as Morristown increased the lead to thirteen.

Colton-Pierrepont got as close as 10 in the fourth as Zack Farr buried three 3-pointers and scored 12 in the contest..

The Colts were able to hold the Green Rockets to one field goal in the fourth quarter, but Morristown went 13 for 15 from the foul line down the stretch. EVANS AND WHITE TOUGH AS NAILS PLAYER OF THE GAME Ryan Volmer secured 10 of 11 free throws and finished with a game high 18 points.

Simmons tallied 14 for Morristown who will take on top seeded St. Regis Falls in Saturday in the Class D Quarterfinals from Potsdam High School.
