Potsdam Girls Advance To Girls Hockey FInal With Shut Out Of Salmon River

POTSDAM 4, ST. LAWRENCE CENTRAL 1

The Sandstoners hold off a third period rally scoring twice late to down the first place Larries.

Potsdam led 2-0 after two with a goal in each period. Josh Locey followed up on a rebound in the first period and Robbie Scott tapped home a feed from PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Chad Varney.

The Larries finally got on the board on their sixth power play opportunity when Devon Euto scored on a cross crease feed from Ian Lynch.

However just a minute and a half later Varney would steal the puck in the neutral zone and zone in on Trevor Keleher cutting in from the point as he redirected Varney's pass into the goal to earn the Stoners their two goal lead back.

Josh Locey tacked on an unassisted goal three minutes later to put the game out of reach.

Devon Caray stopped 15 in he win for Potsdam. Nate McLauhglin halted 30 for St. Lawrence Central

SECTION X GIRLS HOCKEY SEMI-FINALS

The Lady Stoners advane to the Section X Finals with ease dowing the undermaned Shamrocks.

Megan Stevenson would score the eventual game winner just 2:37 into the game. jenny Tardelli added a marker to help Potsdam to 2-0 first intermission lead.

Potsdam pumped in seven goals in the second as PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Kalie Grant scored a natural hat trick and produced an assist in the win. Kelsey Green, Sierra Gagnon and Jordan Emerson notched a goal and an assist.

In goal Allie Compau and Sidney Molnar combined for nine saves. Salmon River's Becca LeRoux and Abby Grant halted 32 shots.
