Canton Survives Larrie Rally, Win Non-Leaguer In Girls Hoops

CANTON 58, ST. LAWRENCE CENTRAL 51

The Golden Bears hold offa  late charge to take a non-league game in the battle of Class C rivals.

Canton built a three point lead at the half and led by as much as 11 in the third quarter.  A very balanced scoring attakck saw PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Kaeli Mace and Rachael Sandserson scored six in the third quarter.

The Bears held a 12 point lead in the fourth quarter only to see the Larries storm back to close the gap to four and then to 54-51 on Brenna Vatter's fourth three pointer of the game.

St.Lawrence Central was forced to foul with under a minute to play. Canton hit four straight free throws to seal the win.  

Mace led the Golden Bears with 11 points, Tori Dailey added ten, and Sanderson managed nine.

For SLC, Lindsay Thayer hit four three and scored 20 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.  Vatter scored 15, and Caitlin Grow secured 12 boards.
