MARTIN TO COACH SUNY CANTON MEN'S HOCKEY FOR REMAINDER OF SEASON
Johnson Newspapaers is reporting that Pat Martin is replacing Carl Michaelson as the head Men's Hockey coach of SUNY Canton on an interim basis

In his 13th year at the college, Martin is currently SUNY Canton’s assistant athletic director and compliance coordinator. He previously served as the men’s ice hockey coach for seven seasons.

During his tenure, SUNY Canton qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association national championship tournament three times, including the championship game in 2001-02.

He was named coach of the year in Region 3 following his final season and has coached many All-Region and All-American players.

Before taking over the program, Martin was an assistant coach for three years and helped SUNY Canton win its 15th national championship in 1999-00.

SUNY Canton has an overall record of 5-11 this season.
