Canton and Edwards-Knox Move On to Burkman Final

CANTON 77, HERMON-DEKALB 34

The Golden Bears roll into the Burkman final as the senior strong squad takes down the Green Demons.

After an early 4-2 deficit, Canton rolled off 19 points in a row and led 24-6 after one quarter. PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Evan LaPoint scored 10 first quarter points and 15 by halftime.  Bryant Wentworth added 12 by the break as the Bears built a 48-17 halftime lead. 

LaPoint finished with a double double,19 points and 11 rebounds.  Wentworth added 19 of his own including two three pointers.  EVANS AND WHITE TOUGH AS NAILS PLAYER OF THE GAME  Nate Archibald scored six points in the fourth and contributed 12 points overall.

For Hermon-Dekalb, Zack Robinson and MaCauley Snell each scored 11 points.

EDWARDS-KNOX 51, MADRID-WADDINGTON 42

The Cougars come back to down last year's Burkman Classic Champions in the first game of the night.

The Yellow Jackets bolted out to a 15-4 first quarter lead only to see Edwards-Knox end the first half on a 14-6 stretch of there own and still lead by three points.  EVANS AND WHITE TOUGH AS NAILS PLAYER OF THE GAME Tyler Tressider scored nine by haltime.

The Cougars came out in the third and hit two consecutive three pointers to gain there first lead at 24-21.  Madrid-Waddington battled back taking a two point lead at 36-34 heading into the fourth. 

Edwards-Knox finally slowed down the Jackets holding them to only six fourth quarter points while PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Kaden Dandrow scored nine in the fourth producing 18 points in the game, 16 coming in the second half.

Tressider added 18 points of his own helping the Cougars to the Burkman Tournament final for the second straight year.  Edwards-Knox out scoredMadrid-Waddington 17-6 in the fourth quarter.   

Colin O'Bryan led Madrid-Waddington with 13 points.
