It is my pleasure on behalf of the County Legislator’s Democratic Caucus to announce those Legislators that will be nominated for positions of leadership in 2013 at the St. Lawrence County Legislature’s Organizational Meeting on January, 2^nd.

Legislator Jonathan Putney, District 15 will be nominated for the position of Chair of the Board. Legislator Putney is in his 3^rd year on the Legislature and has distinguished himself as a hardworking, patient individual that spends time researching issues and has shown that he can work with all Legislators regardless of party registration. Jon will bring the day to day experience that a young family working and living in St. Lawrence County face each day to the entire Board.

Legislator Don Peck, District 5 will be nominated for the position of Vice-Chair of the Board. Legislator Peck is in his 7^th year on the Legislature after serving several years as Town Supervisor in Gouverneur. Don will bring balance to County Government Leadership due to the fact that he represents the south-western part of our county, has extensive local government experience and has a more flexible work schedule than most legislators.

It is the belief of the Democratic Caucus that our county will continue to face difficult financial issues as we attempt to meet the needs of our residents in the future. We stand behind Legislators Putney and Peck as they lead us forward.
