POTSDAM VILLAGE TAXPAYERS WOULD SEE DOUBLE-HIT ON POLICE COSTS, IF ONE NORWOOD DISSOLUTION SCENARIO COMES TRUE—Consultant Jill Symonds told an audience Tuesday gathered for the final report of the Norwood Village Dissolution Study Final Report that, if a town-wide police force were created in the event the Village dissolves and becomes part of the Town of Potsdam, Potsdam Village taxpayers would shell out for both the Village Police and the Town of Potsdam Police. A special police district, another possible scenario, would take an act of the State Legislature...and that has not happened since the 1930's.
