99 NEWS FOR MONDAY, 12/3/12 OFFICIALS SAY LOW-COST POWER IS A “DEAL CLOSER, ” NOT A “DEAL MAKER”--St. Lawrence County IDA Executive Patrick Kelly told a county legislative sub-committee last week having low-cost power allocations in the portfolio has done a lot to broaden the scope of the potential job-generators the IDA is talking to, but it is only a piece of the pie—a company usually comes to the county when all the other incentives are attractive. Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority Executive Wade Davis says a hundred-million-dollar company is interested in the OBPA Industrial Park. He says the “all in” discount of incentives—not including low-cost power—is in the 9-to-10-million-dollar range.
