Madrid-Waddington Escapes With Chamberain Title Over Heuvelton

MADRID-WADDINGTON 41, HEUVELTON 38

The Yellow Jackets hold off a late Bulldog charge to take the Jesse Chamberlain Title.

Visiting Heuvelton managed a three point halftime lead on two consecutive three pointers by Hanna Thornhill and Alexis Weidner to end the second quarter wih under a minute left.

Olivia Parmeter knocked home a three pointer and a jumper to spark a 6-0 run to begin the third in helping the Jackets take a three point lead after three quarters. 

The home team got up by as much as eight only to see Heuvelton bounce back to close the gap to 38-36 late in the fourth quarter.  The Tournament MVP came through with a minute to go as Parmeter buried her third three of the game with a minute to play to give Madrid-Waddington a 41-36 lead.

Olivia St. Pierre closed the gap to three with 6.7 seconds to go but were the Bulldogs were unable to secure the tying shot as time expired.

Parmeter led all players with 19 points, nine coming in the third quarter.  EVANS AND WHITE TOUGH AS NAILS PLAYER OF THE GAME Jenny King scored nine, going five for six from the foul line, and pulled down six rebounds. 

For the Bulldogs, Alexis Wiedner tallied 14.
