DOHENY SAYS REPEAL OF SCHOOL FOOD REGS IN ORDER—Matt Doheny, the Republican-Independence-Conservative candidate for the 21st Congressional District told 99 News yesterday the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 is another example of the “Nanny State” that tells schools, parents, and children what to do. The legislation sets controls on calorie, fat and sodium contents in school food. Many complaints have been lodged against the Act, about many children not getting enough food to sustain them, and that schools are losing money because of fewer kids buying lunch. Incumbent Democratic Congressman Bill Owens says change may be necessary. Doheny says it's important to realize that Owens also voted in favor of the bill package. ALSO ONLINE TODAY....
