CONSERVATIVE ASSEMBLY CANDIDATE SPOKESMAN SAYS VANDALISM OF CAMPAIGN SIGNS NOT A REAL ISSUE—Russell Finley, the manager for the campaign of Conservative 115th Assembly District candidate Karen Bisso, says vandalism of signs is typical, and takes attention away from issues that matter. The Plattsburgh Press-Republican ran a story this week about alleged hate speech spray-painted on signs in Clinton County for Republican candidate Janet Duprey. The district will include four townships in St. Lawrence County next year. Duprey says what upsets her most is the impact the vandalism had on her family. The spray-paintings reportedly malign Duprey's pro-gay-marriage and pro-abortion stands. Finley says the real issues are 11 percent unemployment, ridiculously-high property taxes, runaway Medicaid spending, and allegations of ethics breaches by Duprey. Democratic candidate Tim Carpenter told the Press-Republican fortunately, the majority of voters is smart enough not to be swayed by what is written on some signs.
