SUPPORT BUILDS FOR ROUTE 11 IMPROVEMENTS AND “I-98” TO OCCUR TOGETHER—Jason Clark, Chair of the Northern Border Transportation Group, told 99 News after he drove the “I-98” truck in the Massena Solidarity Day Parade Monday he's getting the sense the need for a proposed Route 11 project is becoming more and more evident these days, in light of recent accidents and traffic problems on the existing Federal highway. The “Yes-11” group met with Congressman Bill Owens this summer asking for his support; Owens, who supports “I-98” said at the time he would support both projects moving ahead at the same time. Teamsters Local 687 President Brian Hammond told 99 News after the parade he would support that. “I-98” is the proposed east-west four-lane interstate linking Watertown with Plattsburgh through the Northern Tier.
