POTSDAM ACCIDENT VICTIM WAS STILL IN OPERATING ROOM THIS MORNING—Fletcher-Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont told us 50-year-old Ronald Swinyer of Newton Falls, who received severe trauma when his motorcycle was struck by a tractor-trailer on Route 72 Thursday afternoon, was still in the OR as of 5am today. Sheriff's Deputies and Detectives say the cycle was struck by the rig as driver 28-year-old Jesse Ferguson was avoiding a partially-parked car on the pavement about 3:45pm. Ferguson, of Potsdam was not hurt.

FELONY ASSAULT IN BOMBAY SENDS FORT COVINGTON MAN TO JAIL—Malone-based State Police say 52-year-old William Rambo allegedly sliced another man's wrists and forehead with a small pocket-knife he wielded in an argument that started when he was asked to leave a residence because he was allegedly drunk and combative Monday. Rambo was arraigned and jailed on 5000 dollars cash bail.
