COUNTY LEGISLATOR VOTES AGAINST RESOLUTION TO SIGN RECORDS MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE CONTRACT—Fred Morrill of Dekalb, Chair of the Finance Committee voted “no” Monday on a 9500-dollar-a-month, five-year contract with Info Quick Solutions, based on evidence he believes shows the company may have issues it may not be good to do business with—including fines for bad business practices in Connecticut. The vote was 11-4 in favor of hiring Info Quick; Ogdensburg legislator Joe Lightfoot says barring any crimes or serious ethics breaches that he can see no evidence of, he supports the contract. The records management system is used to keep track of the mandated production on demand of public documents handled by the clerk such as land deeds.  Morrill told us it's awkward to vote against a resolution that comes from a committee one chairs, but that's the way he feels about it.
