VETERANS WANT LOCAL HEALTH CARE CENTER—A caller from Potsdam, identifying himself as “David” told Congressman Bill Owens in a regional “telephone town hall” Tuesday the long trip to to the Syracuse VA is becoming more of a dilemma for older veterans needing health care. Owens says he is investigating the possibility of a facility in Ogdensburg at the request of veterans who spoke with him last week. Owens went on to say one troubling aspect of the problem is enticing facilities other than those run by the VA to provide the services.
