“VALUE ADDED” CONCEPT SHOULD BE APPLIED TO ALUMINUM, SUPERVISOR SAYS—Massena Town Supervisor Joe Gray told the North Country Regional Economic Development Council in public comments last week that truckloads of molten aluminum from Alcoa are shipped to Oswego County for the production of aluminum cans. He says more industries like that should be based closer to Massena to create local jobs.

MASSENA MAN CHARGED WITH FORGERY AFTER SHOPLIFTING ARREST—Village Police picked up 38-year-old Timothy Trimm of Center Street Saturday night after he and another man allegedly tied to swipe alcoholic beverages from the Massena Price Chopper. Trimm allegedly identified himself as a Hannawa Falls man, and used the alias to sign a fingerprint card. He was arraigned and jailed on the felony forgery and several other counts and committed on 2500 dollars bail. The co-defendant, 38-year-old Joseph Rousaw was released on a ticket to appear for petit larceny.

CANTON MAN RUNS FROM POLICE, ARRESTED—Village Police charged 26-year-old Christopher Alston of County Route 14 with obstruction of governmental administration and other charges after he was pulled over on Riverside Drive, and he allegedly got out of the vehicle and ran. Other tickets Alston got were for open container, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway
