Mahoney and Bradman Honored by Lacrosse Magazine

LACROSSE MAGAZINE NAMES BRADMAN PLAYER OF THE YEAR, MAHONEY COACH OF THE YEAR
A leading contributor on a Salisbury State team that went undefeated in capturing a 10th NCAA Division III championship last month, Canton native Sam Bradman was selected as Lacrosse Magazine PLayer of the Year.

Bradman finished with a team-high 71 goals and had 28 assists for 99 points as the second leading scorer.  

The United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced the 2012 Division III awards and Bradman came away with two honors as he earned the Iroquois Nationals Award for Outstanding Player of the Year and the Fran McCall Award for Outstanding Midfielder of the Year. This was Bradman’s second time being named the National Midfielder of the Year; he won the award in 2010..

St. Lawrence University's Head Lacrosse Coach Mike Mahoney  was named Lacrosse Magazine's Coach of the Year.  Mahoney led the Saints to a 12-3 record after the team had gone just 4-10 the previous season..


MASSENA COUNTY CLUB LADIES GOLF ASSOCIATION LOOKS FOR NEW MEMBERS

The Massena Country Club Ladies’ Golf Association played their annual 9-hole Scramble this past Wednesday with teams comprised of both 9-hole and 18-hole division members.

The winning team, with a score of 40, consisted of Charlotte Aiken, Rosalie Smith, Barb Reid and Sharon Gaines. Rosalie Smith also won for closest to the hole on #12

MAPLES SWEEP DOUBLEHEADER VERSUS HEUVELTON

Breton LaRose pitched a no-hitter and Seth Pinkerton followed with a one-hitter as the Ogdensburg Maples swept Heuvelton 10-0, 13-0 in 16-Under Baseball action at the OFA varsity daimond on Friday.

The Maples climbed to 3-0 on the season heading a busy week where they play at Norfolk on Tuesday, host Beaver River on Thursday, visit Canton on Friday and play Norfolk and Malone on Sunday, June 30.


FOURTH ANNUAL PARISHVILLE FUN RUN SERIES BEGINS MONDAY
with a free 6-week run/walk series.  It consists of a quarter-mile race for children 5 and under, half-mile race for kids 6 to 10, mile trail run for kids 11 to 14, and 3-mile trail run for teens and adults, every Monday through July 30.

NORWOOD BEACH DUATHLON SERIES RUN-BIKE-RUN RACE,
starts and finish at Norwood Beach on Lake Shore Drive on Tuesday June 26th. Registration starts 5:30, $10 for the series, with a T-shirt, or $3 per race. More info call Pete, 353-8836, or Steve, 353-2867.  This is the first of four races for the season.
