Thayer Thorws One Hitter In Class C Championship For SLC

CLASS D SOFTBALL SEMI-FINALS


COLTON-PIERREPONT 12, PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 3

The top seeded Colts advance to their first Sectonal title game in ten years with a powerful offensive effort against the Panthers.

PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Morgan Doyle from the lead off position not only homered once but twice in the win.  She belted a solo home run in the third to give the Colts a 2-0 lead then drove home three runs in a six run fifth inning that busted the game open. 

Parishville-Hopkinton came back to take a 3-2 lead in the fourth after trailing 2-0.  Jena Jacot singled in a run plus Jessica Richards and Nicole White scored on infield erros to help the Panthers to their only lead of the game.

The Colts added two runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth as Bri Beaulieau struck out seven scattering six hits walking one.  At bat she singled twice and scored three times.  Katherine Miller double in a run and Tara Hennessey singled twice.

For the Panthers, Marlee Wilson and Jena Jacot tripled.  Michaela coventry struck out three and walked one in the effort.

CLASS C SOFTBALL FINAL

ST. LAWRENCE CENTRAL 10, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 0

Larries softball returns to the NYS Tournament with a solid effort against the Flyers at SUNY Potsdam. 

SLC scored twice in the second inning then broke the game open with three more run in the fourth and five in the fifth.

PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Lindsey Thayer had 12 strikeouts and walked three in tossing the one-hit shutout.  Thayer also played a lead role offensively going 3-3 with four RBI, including a three-run triple in the foufth inning.

Angellena Sebring was 2-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Noel Rufa singled and scored a run while Jane Judway came around to score twice.

Alycia Short provided the only hit for Norwood-Norfolk while Katie Ames struck out five in the effort.
