HEUVELTON 12, PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 2
A seven run burst in the third inning lifts Heuvelton to an opening day win against the Panthers.
Parishville-Hopkinton struck first in the first on a Jessica Richards single scoring Kodie Perkins from second base. The Bulldogs came back scoring the next 12 inlcuding one in the second and seven more in the third.
PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Alexis Sawyer and Hanna Thornhill each drove in single runs on doubles while Logan Tallman and Jenn Couglar managed back to back RBI singles in the inning.
Tallman settled down in the circle for the win going four innings allowing one run on two hits. Sawyer belted her third double of the game in the fourth and scored her third run of the game when Tallman helped her own cause with an RBI double.
Sawyer went 3 for 3 and added on two RBIs. Alexis Wieder came on to pitch three innings allowing one run on two hits.
For the Panthers, Kodie Perkins singled twice and Jessica Richards drove in two runs. Pitcher Michaela Coventry struck out three and walked two.
