Two short handed goals in the second period helps the Shamrocks claim back to back D-II hockey crowns.
Ryan Thomas started Salmon River off with a break away goal at 6:26 and Colton Hart redirected a pass from the corner over two minutes later to give the Shamrocks a 2-0 lead. OFA cut the lead in half late in the first period when Zack Barr push the puck passsed the goal line after a Salmon River initial save.
Salmon River broke the game open wide down two men when PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Adam Bomberry stole the puck and scored uinassisted as the Shamrocks were down two men to push the lead ot two. Tye Terrance scored the second consecutvie short handed goal 48 seconds later to help build a 4-1 lead.
Salmon River scored their only power play of the game in the third when Chris George took a pass from Bomberry at tucked it in at 9:45 of the third to finish the scoring.
Matt Healy was only called upon to make only 11 saves while David Prudomme stopped nine for the Blue Devils. Salmon River travels to Oswego for the first round of the D-II New Tork State Tournament.
