The Potsdam Bears spring a big upset against first place Oneonta with the first win of the second semester in their final home game of the year.

Potsdam would build a nine point lead in the first half and lead by five as Bailey Weigel tallied nine by the break. The ball changed hands several times as the Red Dragons tied the game at 41-41, 44-44, and 46-46.

Katy Briedis stole the ball at mid-court and scored on a lay up with three minutes to play to give the Bears the lead at 48-46. Oneonta's Samantha Szkotak responded with her third three-pointer of the game to give the Red Dragons the lead back at 49-48.

From that point on the Bears were able to out score the Dragons 9-2 to end the game. Down the stretch Breidis went 7 for 10 from the foul line and led the Bears with 17 points. Weigel managed 14 points, going 6 for 8 from the floor.

For Oneonta, Szkotak scored 16 as the first place Red Dragons now are tied for second in the SUNYAC.
