POTSDAM 72, ONEONTA 68 (OT/F)
The Potsdam Bears earn their first SUNYAC win the hard way, losing a lead in regulation and winning the game in overtime.
Potsdam jogged out to a 8-2 but Oneonta would respond with the next 12 points. The lead changed hands several times in the first half. Greg Torchon scored on an offensive rebound with nine seconds to play in he first half to give the Bears a 25-24 lead at the half.
The Red Dragons lead 47-42 with 8:33 to play until Tony Efese capped off an 8-2 run with a three pointer four minutes later. Brad Drysdale made it 52-49 with a lay up but Oneonta's Kevin Donahue sunk a three pointer with three minutes to play to tie the game at 52-52.
Down four with a minute to play, Josh Lambert drained a three pointer and Tony Efese gave the Bears the lead with 35 seconds to play at 59-58. But Dan Lee's trip to the foul line with 12 seconds to play resulted in a one for two effort, tying the game sending the game into overtime.
In overtime, Potsdam paced themselves to a 7-2 run as Josh Lambert bucket with three minutes to go kept the Bears in the lead for good. Tony Efese led all scorers woth 21 points. Rob Duquette added 16 and Josh Lambert 11. Curtis Pierce recorded 10 rebounds.
For Oneonta, Kevin Donahue scored 15, Frankie Kelly and Cameron Boyden added 14 in the loss.
