POTSDAM VILLAGE PLANNING BOARD MADE TO LOOK LIKE "JACKASSES," CHAIRMAN SAYS--Theodore "Ted" Prahl said Thursday Chason Affinity Comapnies released information to the media about a proposed housing complex on Outer Main Street, before the planners and he feels that was wrong. Chason plans to construct a 200-plus unit development across from the SUNY Potsdam athletic complex in the Residential-4 zoning area that would incorporate group dwellings with separate bedrooms, and another, commons-type building. The board voted last night to assume lead agency status in the State Environmental Quality Review, or "SEQR" process for the project.

"OCCUPY" LANGUAGE ENTERS PUBLIC DISCOURSE IN POTSDAM COMPREHENSIVE PLAN DISCUSSION--Ed Komara told the rest of the panel Wednesday there is a large percentage of the population in the Village that is "very much the 99 Percent," those who do not work for the universities or Canton-Potsdam Hospital and are making very little money, or no money at all and the document guiding land use and quality-of-life issues needs to deal with that.
