RESPONSE FOR "HOBBLE GOBBLE 14" FANTASTIC, ONLINE REGISTRATION MUST BE SHUT DOWN--Organizer Derry Loucks told us this morning he had 639 pre-registered as of 8am for the annual prediction walk-run in West Potsdam coming up this Saturday; there were 608 at 1 Friday afternoon. He says "it's a great problem to have." The event raises money for charities that serve needy families around St.Lawrence County, about three-fourths of the proceeds go to the Potsdam Holiday Fund but several Neighborhood Centers and other local service organizations get a portion of the proceeds.

MASSENA 16-YEAR-OLD AND ANOTHER YOUNGER TEEN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT AFTER SKATING RINK RUCKUS--State Police in Massena say 16-year-old Austin Villnave and an un-named 15-year-old boy allegedly beat up a male victim, breaking his nose and knocking out his front teeth during an altercation about 7pm Friday at the St.Lawrence Centre "Rock-'N-Skate." The younger teen allegedly struck the victim before Villnave.  Villnave was charged with felony assault, the younger teen with a misdemeanor. Villnave was additionally charged with misdemeanors related to an August bicycle theft in Waddington. Villanave was released on a court ticket; the younger teen will be petitioned to Family Court.
