TEXAS FUGITIVE CAUGHT IN POTSDAM--Potsdam Police took 24-year-old Henry Handwerker, a Florida man into custody on a warrant from the state of Texas with full extradition. Police were alerted to a suspicious person standing at the intersection of Grove Street and Somerset Drive Wednesday afternoon. Handwerker told them he was selling vacuum cleaners in the Potsdam area. The warrant was discovered through a computer check of his driver's license. Handwerker was arraigned before Village Justice Nicholas Pignone and committed to St.Lawrence County Jail without bail until extradition proceedings.
