99 NEWS FOR 10/27/11 AKWESASNE CRASH CLAIMS TWO LIVES--St.Regis Mohawk Police and numerous fire and rescue squads responded about 2:30 Wednesday morning to a location on North Road, where a vehicle driven by Amber Lynn Aliff of Akwesasne crashed. No details on the carsh were available, however it is known Aliff, and one passenger 22-year-old Dakota Benedict of Akwesasne received fatal injuries. Aliff expired at Massena Memorial Hospital; Benedict at the scene. A second passenger, Sidney Oakes of Akwesasne was listed today in critical but stable condition at Fletcher-Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont. The crash is still under investigation. NO SUSPECT IN CUSTODY ON PHILLIPS DEATH, MOTHER'S ACQUAINTANCE QUESTIONED--Potsdam Police Chief Ed Tischler told reporters yesterday Nick Hillary has been one of many people questioned in connection with the death Monday of 12-year-old Garrett Phillips. Hillary was romantically connected with Phillips's mother, Tandy Cyrus. Hillary is a Clarkson University soccer coach.
