NORWOOD VILLAGE MAYOR SAYS TRUSTEES ARE SERIOUS ABOUT EXPLORING "TOWN OF NORWOOD" IDEA--Jim Mc.Faddin told 99 News Friday Trustees are expected to vote October 18th on the formation of a committee charged with studying the possibility of turning the current 13668 zip code area within the Town of Potsdam into a "Town of Norwood," in response to the possibility the Village of Potsdam could dissolve into the Town of Potsdam. Mc.Faddin says Norwood Trustees owe it to the public to at least explore it. Potsdam town-outside and Norwood Village residents could see their property taxes go up by multiples if the Village of Potsdam dissolves.  Legislation from Russell making the vote possible was signed into law by Governor Cuomo

NORWOOD LIBRARY DISTRICT PROPOSITION IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO, RUSSELL SAYS--118th Assembly District representative Addie Russell says allowing the voters of the proposed Norwood Library taxing jurisdiction to have their say is the essence of local government, giving the power to the people. On November 15th, Norwood-Norfolk School District taxpayers outside the Town of Norfolk will decide whether the fiscally-struggling Library should have the authority to collect taxes. The tax bill impact is expected to be about 6 dollars a month, given an annual budget of about 85-thousand-dollars.
