CEREBRAL PALSY COULD TAKE OVER COUNTY DENTAL SEALANT PROGRAM--Dr. Susan Hathaway, Director of St.Lawrence County Public Health, told Legislators last week Cerebral Palsy of the North Country is interested in taking over the program that serves hundreds of needy children each year with the cavity-prevention treatment. Hathaway says the agency could have a State Health Department grant tansferred to them; the County Health Department is waiting to see if it will be renewed. She says CP has its own clinic, and can help with other services; for example the treatment of about 700 needy children with untreated dental caries who would otherwise not get any dental care. Legislators say they are interested in the change, but labor contract issues would have to be worked out just in case an arbitrator questions it. Legislators kept the sealant program for this budget year, but its future was uncertain.
