Potsdam Baseball Rallies In Seventh For Dramatic Win In Plattsburgh |

99 SPORTS FEATURE GAME ON 1470 AM WPDM NYS CLASS B BASEBALL REGIONAL POTSDAM 6, PLATTSBURGH 5 A seventh inning rally keeps the Sandstoner season alive in a dramatic win over the Hornets in the New York State Class B Regionals. Down 3-0 going into their final at-bats, Potsdam scored six runs to go up by three and held on for a one-run victory. A fast five innings saw Plattsburgh score with two outs in the third on a Rob Knowles pop single behind first base to score Tom Curran from second base. The Hornets mounted a two-run sixth as Joe Tolowski drove in both runs with a single. Potsdam would begin the 7th inning rally with a lead-off walk to Brandon Noble, a one-out hit by Todd Sharlow, and then an RBI single by SUBWAY SUB OF THE GAME John Coleman to cut the deficit to two. Will Coleman and PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Trevor Keleher notched RBI hits while Ben Miller douled in two runs to give the Stoners a six-three lead going into the bottom of the inning. After hitting a batter to lead off the 7th, starter Will Coleman was replaced by his brother John, who would balk in one run and gave up another on an RBI single by Brian LaTulip before forcing the next batter to pop to center field ending the game. Will Coleman went six innings, striking out four and scattering six hits in the win. CJ Worley and Brian Latulip singled twice for Plattsburgh and Tom Curran scored twice. PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Kacie Wentworth threw a two-hitter and helped her own cause with 3 RBIs. Canton busted the game open in the 4th inning scoring four to go up 5-0. Sam Brown would single in two runs in the inning as she came around to score. SUBWAY SUB OF THE GAME Paige Chase accumulated three hits and scored twice while Kaeli Mace touched home plate twice. Breanna Martineau doubled and Brianna Padron singled in the only run for Peru. Canton moves on to quarterfinal action on Wednesday, where they face Mechanicville down in Queensbury at ADK Sports Complex.
