NEW SECURITY MEASURES AT LAWRENCE AVENUE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN PLACE--Principal Larry Jenne told the Board of Education last week the main doors are now locked, with security cameras and an intercom both monitored by the secretary's office. The secretary can make the would-be entrant show ID on the camera before being 'buzzed in,' and the entrant must also sign in at the office and get a visitor's badge. Jenne says before, anyone off the street could potentially walk in and go through the building undetected.
