Golden Knigths Rally To Beat Bulldogs For D Baseball Title

CLASS D BASEBALL FINAL

LISBON 10, HEUVELTON 8

The Golden Knights rally with a monster seven run sixth to claim the Class D title over the Bulldogs.

Heuvelton broke a scoreless tie in the third with a five run inning as Aaron Cobb doubled in two runs and scored on an RBI single by Cody Holland.

Lisbon began their rally in the bottom of the fourth with a two run double by PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Mike McDonnell scoring Nolan Fletcher and Scott Lawton.

After Heuvelton added a run in the fifth, the Golden Knights took advantage of some Bulldog miscues in the field and walks, eventually scoring seven in the bottom of the sixth to take a 10-6 lead.

Heuvelton chipped away, scoring two in the seventh but SUBWAY SUB OF THE GAME Eric Mehaffey struck out the last two batters with the tying runs in scoring position to perserve the win for Lisbon.

Scott Lawton singled three times and Nolan fletcher scored twice in the win. For the Bulldogs, Jon Sloan singled three times and scored twice. Lucas Brown and Chris Power each had two hits.

CLASS B BASEBALL FINAL

POTSDAM 10, OFA 1

The Sandstoners claim their fourth consecutive Class B crown with a dominating first two innings with the bats against the Blue Devils.

Potsdam scored four in the first and three more in the second off the OFA starter. SUBWAY SUB OF THE GAME Will Coleman and Stephen Hayes each produced first inning RBI singles and Shawn Clark belted a two run double.

Trevor Keleher managed an RBI double and Brandon Noble an RBI single in the second as the Stoners built a 7-0 cushion.

It was more than enough for PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME John Coleman who went five innings in the win, striking out five. Coleman capped off the scoring with an inside the park home run in the bottom of the sixth. John drove in two, while Will singled three times and threw two scoreless innings of relief.

Lee Buchanan scored twice and Hayes singled three times.

For OFA, Ryan Bouchey contributed an RBI single while Andrew LeBeau, Jarred Morrow, and Drew Thornhill reached on singles.
