ZELYEZ HONORED BY SUNRISE CONFERENCE
Junior Michael Zelyez has been named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week in baseball after leading the Roos to a 2-2 week. The outfielder drew three walks, scored twice and laced a single in a 10-0 win over Vermont Technical College in game one on Saturday. He also had a single and a stolen base in the nightcap which went to 13 innings. On Sunday, Zelyez went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run in an opening game loss to the Green Knights and closed out the weekend with a solo home run, a triple and three runs in a 14-2 win.


LYNCH EARNS SUNRISE CONFERENCE PLAYER OF WEEK
Sophomore Vickie Lynch has been named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week in softbal.  The third baseman is honored after leading the Roos to a 5-1 week, including a four-game sweep of Vermont Technical College. Lynch went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs in a 20-0 win over Vermont Tech on Saturday in the first game. In game two, she went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run. On Sunday, Lynch was 4-for-5 with four RBIs and four runs in an 18-0 win over the Green Knights. Earlier in the week she scored a run in each game in a split with SUNY Potsdam. She also had an excellent sacrifice bunt in the first game against the Bears.


MEASHAW PITCHES HER WAY TO CONFERENCE WEEKLY AWARD
Sophomore Jessica Measheaw has been named the Sunrise Conference Pitcher of the Week in softball after tossing three straight shutouts.  Measheaw beat SUNY Potsdam 8-0 as she struck out three batters and held the Bears to just two hits and no walks. She also threw a two-hit 8-0 shutout over Vermont Technical College on Saturday with four strikeouts and beat the Green Knights again on Sunday fanning three batters and allowing just one hit in five innings.
