SURVEY RESULTS GAVE DIRECTION ON POTSDAM SCHOOL TAX LEVY HIKE--Superintendent Pat Brady says the margin of community members supporting a levy hike compared with those that do not was closely in favor of a levy hike in a recent survey. The average levy hike for those that gave a number was slightly over 4 percent. An original draft had 22 percent; the current draft has 4 percent while making about 1.5-million dollars in cuts. The Finance Committee of the Board of Education meets Tuesday to finalize a plan that will go to the full board for a vote. One topic will be where to put about 100-thousand-dollars in aid restored in the state budget.
